Born 8-12-1967, in Arlington, MA,he was a son <strong>of</strong> Joseph E. and Arlene(Poglitsch) Monahan and a resident <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong> for thepast 14 years. Besides his parents, he leaves three brothers, Stephen <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>. Michaeland Matthew <strong>of</strong> G<strong>of</strong>fstown, NH; a sister, Jennifer Monahan <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>; his maternalgrandmother, Augustina (Backes)Poglitsch <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>; his paternal grandparents, Edwardand Grace(Swift)Monahan <strong>of</strong> Bristol. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, CTMONCE, ANNA, wife to Samuel, died 1-5-1948.MONCE, SAMUEL G. husband to Anna, died 5-4-1930.MORGAN, NELBERT L. 32, <strong>of</strong> 50 Rockledge Drive, was found in the woods <strong>of</strong>f MilfordRoad, <strong>Burlington</strong>, about 3-7-65 (Lamson Corner Cemetery?). Doctors termed the death suicideby hanging. Morgan had been missing since 2-24 and police said he had been dead for sometime. A native <strong>of</strong> Bristol, he was born 2-1-1933. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Carolyn (Hart)Morgan; a sister, Mrs. Paul B.Smith, both <strong>of</strong> Bristol. Burial in West Cemetery.MOSES, ADRIAN R. passed away at his home in the southwestern part <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>. (1-3-1917) Mr. Moses was born in the house in which he died or in the one across the road and wasa son <strong>of</strong> Richard and Rachel (Norton)Moses and had lived all <strong>of</strong> his life except about 7 years inthe immediate section where he died. He was born on 3-21-1838 and attended the districtschool and worked on his father's farm. As a young man he, for a period <strong>of</strong> about 7 yearsowned a farm in Farmington. During all <strong>of</strong> the active years <strong>of</strong> his life he was engaged inlumbering. He bought hundred's <strong>of</strong> acres <strong>of</strong> timber land which he cut <strong>of</strong>f and turned the timber,much <strong>of</strong> it, into ties, which were sold to the New York and New Haven Railroad. It is thought thathe furnished more ties to this railroad than any other man living. For a number <strong>of</strong> years past heand his son, Arthur A. has given up much time to horticulture and their apple orchards hadbecome famous all over New England as their exhibits <strong>of</strong> this fruit had taken first prizes at thebig pomological show in Boston year after year. He grew Rhode Island Greenings, Baldwin andthe Golden Russett.Mr. Moses was representative <strong>of</strong> the town <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong> in the legislature <strong>of</strong> 1877 and hadlong been selectman, chairman <strong>of</strong> the board <strong>of</strong> school visitors, in fact had held all <strong>of</strong> the town<strong>of</strong>fices in <strong>Burlington</strong> that he would except. He has also seen his son a member <strong>of</strong> theConnecticut Legislature <strong>of</strong> 1909 and to hold various town <strong>of</strong>fices.At the time <strong>of</strong> his death his wife was seriously ill with grip and the son, Arthur A. was also illwith the same disease. Two trained nurses were in attendance. The other direct survivors are adaughter Mrs. Edwin Matthews <strong>of</strong> Whigville and five grandchildren.MUBAREK, EDWARD M. 46, <strong>of</strong> Bruning Road, New Hartford, 1919, 11-11-1966. He wasthe husband <strong>of</strong> Jadwiga Szydlo Mubarek. He leaves his wife; 1 son, Khoury <strong>of</strong> New Hartford; 3daughters, Miss Georgie, Miss Helen & Miss Carlotta, all <strong>of</strong> New Hartford; one brother, Charles<strong>of</strong> Winsted; 2 sisters, Mrs. Louise Thomas & Mrs. Doris Veneziano, both <strong>of</strong> Winsted. Burial atCenter Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.MULLEN, JAMES B. Sr. 78, <strong>of</strong> Canton Road, <strong>Burlington</strong>, husband <strong>of</strong> Helen (Hartigan) died10-27-1991. He was born 1-11-1913, in Bangor, Maine, and lived in <strong>Burlington</strong> for the past 53years. He operated the Hartigan Orchards during WW II. He was a former two term StateRepresentative for <strong>Burlington</strong>, and active in town activities. Besides his wife, he is survived by84
