He was born June 11, 1931 in Hartford, son <strong>of</strong>the late Klas V. and Sigrid (Anderson) Benson. A resident <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong> for the past 30 years, hewas the owner <strong>of</strong> Klas V. Benson and Son Building Contractors. Mr. Benson was a U.S. ArmyVeteran, a member <strong>of</strong> the Mason's, Sequin Lodge #140 in Newington, and a member <strong>of</strong> theGloria Dei Lutheran Church in Bristol. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and twodaughters-in-Iaw, Brian Benson <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>, Bret and Nancy Benson <strong>of</strong> Collinsville, Brad andJennifer Benson <strong>of</strong> Granby; five grandchildren, Hannah Benson, Julia Benson, AlexandraBenson, Amy Benson and Christine Pitcarin; a sister-in-Iaw, Betty Benson; and several niecesand nephews. A brother, Arnold Benson, predeceased him. Funeral services will be heldThursday, 11 a.m. at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Bristol. Burial will follow in the <strong>Burlington</strong>Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be held TODAY from 7-9 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home,24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville. He was born,November 3, 1912, in Kasiaznice, Poland, son, <strong>of</strong> Tom and Caroline (Czechi) Bierut and hadlived in <strong>Burlington</strong> for 75 years. Mr. Bierut was employed as a Tool & Die Maker at United Tool& Die in West Hartford for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member St. Patrick'sChurch in Collinsville, and the Legion <strong>of</strong> Mary. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, anddaughter-In-Iaw, Stan and Brooke Bierut <strong>of</strong> Madison; a daughter and son-in-Iaw, Theresa andJay Geaslen <strong>of</strong> Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Stacy Joska, Florence Levandowski, Carolina Kubask,and Veronica Tarca; two brothers, Carl and John Romanice; four grandchildren, Kermit, David,Thomas and Rebecca; and three great-grandchildren, Alexa, Josha and Kaleb. Born in Bristol, July14, 1954, son <strong>of</strong> Barbara J. (Canedy) Blais <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong> and the late Joseph C. Blais, heresided in <strong>Burlington</strong> all <strong>of</strong> his life. He was a graduate <strong>of</strong> Central Connecticut State university,Class <strong>of</strong> 1981. Brad was the owner and operator <strong>of</strong> Down to Earth Landscaping Co. in<strong>Burlington</strong> for 16 years.
