Besides his wife, he is survived bya son, Charles G. Mrs. Homon was a member of the Women’s Club of Bristol. She is survived by two sons,Kenneth A. of Derwood, MD and Thomas J. of Dublin, O. a daughter, Carol Ann Homon ofWinsted; a sister Yvonne Coderre of Holyoke, MA six grandsons and three great-grandsons.She was predeceased by a brother, Norman Davignon. Following the death of his parents he made his home with his uncle andaunt, Mr. & Mrs. George J.Scheidel, until his marriage. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Collinsville, CT.TOWN MOURNS THE DEATH OF ARTHUR J.HORN.Arthur Julius Horn, widely known and universally respected athlete of the Farmington Valley,who had been seriously ill at St. Frances Hospital since July 1, passed away last Friday,October 23.He was stricken while pitching for the Collinsville ball team last June 31, grew steadily worsethrough the night, and was taken to St. Francis Hospital the following day. While at first somehope was held out for his ultimate recovery, he sunk steadily during the past three weeks.Passing away while in a coma.The body lay in state at the Charles H.Vincent funeral home in Collinsville from Saturdayafternoon until the funeral Tuesday evening, during which time hundreds of his friends fromevery section of the Farmington Valley and other sections of the state called to pay tribute to hismemory.The funeral was held from the Vincent home Tuesday with a requiem high mass at St.Patrick’s Church at 9:00. The church was packed to overflowing, and the beautiful floral tributesbanked the whole interior. Bearers were Kenneth Bar?eleau, Edward Leahy, Herman Kauttu,Paul Kobza, Cashmir Zsydlo and Cecil Buxton. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.Mr. Horn leaves his widow, the former Catherine Jackson of Collinsville, two brothers, Jamesof Newington and Julius of Southbury and one sister, Mrs. Arnold Gillette of Bristol.The son of the late Julius and Minnie Scheidel Horn, he was born in Burlington in the homenow occupied by his uncle and aunt, Mr. & Mrs. George Scheidel, Sr. He attended the FouthDistrict School, and participated in local athletics from his early teens. He pitched for theCollinsville ball team for 20 years since the team was first organized. He was a star bowler, and57
