This was accomplished after the midnight trolley had completed its run.The monument was quarried by the Presbrey Coykendall Company of Barre, VT. Afterarriving at the cemetery a roadbed of large timbers was constructed running into the cemetery.The huge monument was then taken from the truck and placed on large rolls and drawn up thehill, several hundred feet to the family plot, by the use of horses and tackle blocks. Mrs. Upson daughterof Mr. & Mrs. John Beecher was born in Wolcott, 5-17-1801. She is the only survivor of eight,five boys & three girls. For a number of years she taught school. When 28 she married MarcusH.Upson, a year later moved to Burlington. There were no children. She possessed anexceedingly fine set of teeth until about two years ago, when they began to drop out. She pridesherself in never having a tooth ache, a decayed tooth, or even ever employing a dentist. Shealso relates of a superstition which existed years ago and which she asserts she complied with.It is said that if a person bit a snake from head to tail he or she would always have sound teeth.Consequently a brother captured a snake and held it by head and tail while she did the rest. Herhealth is excellent. Aside from deafness her faculties are only slightly impaired. Mrs. Upson diedin 5-12-1904, age 102, the oldest woman in the state. Her husband died in 1864. Herhusband, Washington died 33 years ago, leaving her in charge of a large farm, which she hascared for with much ability. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Adna Barnes of this town & Mrs.John Horsfall of Unionville. Burial in Center Cemetery, Burlington, CT.URSAKI, Kenneth C. 73, of Ridge Rd. Burlington, husband of Mrs. Muriel(Tiffin) Ursaki, died3-29-1997, at the John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. Born in Montreal, Canada, 9-12-1923,son of the late Ludwig and Lu L. Ursaki, he resided in Burlington for the last 29 years. Prior toretiring, he was the operation manager at Control Data, Inc., in Farmington. Mr. Ursaki was anactive member of the Burlington Congregational Church, having served on the businesscommittee as was active in the church choir. Besides his wife, he is survived by his four childrenand their spouses, Diane U. Harakas and her husband, Steve Olaussen of Winthrop, MA; PatUrsaki and her husband, Michael Lockaby of Collinsville; Ken D. and Linne Ursaki of Burlington;Don G.Ursaki of New Hartford. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Lee Harakas, Kristenand Ian Lockaby and Lauren and Julia Ursaki. He was predeceased by a grandson, BrettR.Harakas; a sister, Dorothy Wood and a brother, George Ursaki. Buried in Center Cemetery,Burlington, CTURSO, RAYMOND E. J. 78, of Ft. Prior to retirement he was an owner of theVillage Food Mart in Burlington for 20 plus years. He served in the US Army, a member andusher of St. Anastasia's Catholic Church, member of Italian American Club, Bocce' Ball LeagueOfficial, Kazoo Club, Spanish Lakes Theatre Club & Talent Group, Spanish Lakes Bingo ClubOfficial. Predeceased by his wife, Joan Urso; sisters, Jenny Wessenberg, Viola Alos, AntoinetteNai; brother, James Urso and parents, Salvatore and Pauline.
