Burial inCenter Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.NELSON, JANICE M. STREVER, 67, <strong>of</strong> Pleasant St. died 11-19-2002 at Charlotte HungerfordHospital. She was the wife <strong>of</strong> the late Donald Nelson. Born 7-31-1935 in Winchester, she was thedaughter <strong>of</strong> the late Walter and Florence (LaPlante) Strever. She leaves behind four sons, Donald <strong>of</strong>Torrington, Neil <strong>of</strong> Indianola, Iowa, Blair and Eric <strong>of</strong> Torrington; five daughters; Deborah Bakunis <strong>of</strong>Torrington, Lisa Davidson <strong>of</strong> Patterson, N.Y. Valerie Johansen <strong>of</strong> Clinton, Iowa, Caryn Lopez <strong>of</strong>Torrington and Lori Morando <strong>of</strong> Torrington; 22 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and several niecesand nephews. Burial in Center Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CTNEVERS, MARY (Majewski) 81, <strong>of</strong> Southington, died 9-7-1994. She was the widow <strong>of</strong>Frederick W.Nevers. Born in New Britain, she lived on Burritt St. for most <strong>of</strong> her life beforemoving to Southington several years ago. She was a member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Burlington</strong> CongregationalChurch. Her survivers include a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick W. Jr. and Dorothy Nevers<strong>of</strong> Avon; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce Pasqurell <strong>of</strong> Southington, Diane andGeorge Postl <strong>of</strong> Newington and Eileen and Frank Aksamit <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>. Two brothers and threesisters, Daniel Majewski <strong>of</strong> Kensington, Henry Majewski, Jane Budnik, Helen Kraut andFlorence O'Connor, all <strong>of</strong> New Britain. She was predeceased by two grandsons, MichaelAksamit and John Pasqurell; a great-grandson Kevin Postl; two brothers and a sister. Burial inCenter Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.NIEDMANN, ELIZABETH(Broadbent) died at her home in Waterbury 9-29-1923. She wasborn in <strong>Burlington</strong> 8-3-1890, the daughter <strong>of</strong> Fred and Mary (Watson) Broadbent. She attendedthe schools in <strong>Burlington</strong> and 20 years ago moved with her parents to Unionville where shegraduated from the local high school and later Syracuse University. On Oct. 8th she wasmarried to Carl Niedmann <strong>of</strong> Waterbury, who survives her. She also leaves her father andmother, one brother, Charles <strong>of</strong> Unionville and two stepsons, John and Carl Niedmann <strong>of</strong>Waterbury. Burial in Center Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.NIELSON, DORIS J. age 80, a resident <strong>of</strong> Chattahoochee, Florida, died July 6, 2002, inTallahassee, Florida. A native <strong>of</strong> Bristol, CT, she had lived in Chattahoochee since 1991. Shewas a member <strong>of</strong> First United Methodist Church in Chattahoochee and a member <strong>of</strong> the GoldenDays Club. A memorial service will beheld at 4 PM, on Friday, July 22, at First United MethodistChurch in Chattahoochee. Survivors include her husband, Charles F.Nielson <strong>of</strong> Chattahoochee;one son, Bruce Nielson <strong>of</strong> Dublin, Calif. Two daughters, Karen Lafollette <strong>of</strong> Kodiak, Alaska andDiane Bordage <strong>of</strong> Camden, N.Y.; three grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial in CenterCemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.NORTON, JULIA A. <strong>of</strong> 166 Divinity Street, Bristol, died 1921. She was born 2-16-1838 near <strong>Burlington</strong>Station, the second child <strong>of</strong> Jerry and Susan Barnes and the grandchild <strong>of</strong> Amzi and Sophronia (Mills)Barnes. In her earlier years she was a teacher.NORTON, LUTHER S, <strong>of</strong> Copper mine district died 3-6-1909, born 7-15-1847, and was theoldest child <strong>of</strong> Charles & Martha (Stocking) Norton. He lived all his life on the same farm whichhas been in the family for several generations, although the present residence was built in1865. In 1869 he married Miss Sarah Frisbie <strong>of</strong> Unionville, who survives him, together with oneson Charles and a daughter Parthenia. Two brothers, Alfred L. <strong>of</strong> Bristol & Henry C. <strong>of</strong> SanFrancisco. One sister, Mrs. Gilbert H.Blakesley <strong>of</strong> Bristol.NORTON, SARAH (Frisbie) died at her home in the Copper Mine district on 4-22. Mrs.Norton was the widow <strong>of</strong> Luther S.Norton. She was born in New Hartford, 10-11-1848, theyoungest child, <strong>of</strong> five, <strong>of</strong> Gad Frisbie. She was left an orphan at an early age, being brought upby her uncle, Solomon Richards <strong>of</strong> Unionville. She was married 9-7-1869, and after nearly 40years <strong>of</strong> wedded life, followed her husband, who died seven weeks earlier, into the blessed landfrom whence they shall go no more out forever. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. &Mrs. Charles F.Norton, and a daughter, Parthinia G.Norton. Her brother George Frisbie <strong>of</strong>86
