He leaves a brother, Clayton E. <strong>of</strong> Lee, Mass. and 2 sisters, Mrs. EthelH.Rowe <strong>of</strong> Simsbury & Mrs. George Butler <strong>of</strong> Old Saybrook. He was born 3-13-1893, inHarwinton, a son <strong>of</strong> the late Patrick and Marion (Morris) Hogan. He was a partner with hisbrother <strong>of</strong> Hogan's Farm 74 years, retiring in 1982. She married William in 1890.HOHBEIN, EARL W. <strong>of</strong> Wayne, PA formerly <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>, died 10-11-1961. He was born in<strong>Burlington</strong>, 5-23-1904, a son <strong>of</strong> Mr. and Mrs. William Hohbein. He received a law degree fromFordham University. He is survived by his wife, Adella (Brown) Hohbein, a son Earl B. <strong>of</strong>Wayne, a brother, Frank W. <strong>of</strong> Plainville, and two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Alderman and Mrs. LeoDaniels, both <strong>of</strong> Collinsville. Mr. Hohbein was born in Germany, came to the U.S. andsettled in <strong>Burlington</strong> at the age <strong>of</strong> 17. At his death he was member <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Education,and Justice <strong>of</strong> the Peace. Twice he represented the town in the Legislature. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Collinsville, CT.TOWN MOURNS THE DEATH OF ARTHUR J.HORN.Arthur Julius Horn, widely known and universally respected athlete <strong>of</strong> the Farmington Valley,who had been seriously ill at St. Frances Hospital since July 1, passed away last Friday,October 23.He was stricken while pitching for the Collinsville ball team last June 31, grew steadily worsethrough the night, and was taken to St. Francis Hospital the following day. While at first somehope was held out for his ultimate recovery, he sunk steadily during the past three weeks.Passing away while in a coma.The body lay in state at the Charles H.Vincent funeral home in Collinsville from Saturdayafternoon until the funeral Tuesday evening, during which time hundreds <strong>of</strong> his friends fromevery section <strong>of</strong> the Farmington Valley and other sections <strong>of</strong> the state called to pay tribute to hismemory.The funeral was held from the Vincent home Tuesday with a requiem high mass at St.Patrick’s Church at 9:00. The church was packed to overflowing, and the beautiful floral tributesbanked the whole interior. Bearers were Kenneth Bar?eleau, Edward Leahy, Herman Kauttu,Paul Kobza, Cashmir Zsydlo and Cecil Buxton. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.Mr. Horn leaves his widow, the former Catherine Jackson <strong>of</strong> Collinsville, two brothers, James<strong>of</strong> Newington and Julius <strong>of</strong> Southbury and one sister, Mrs. Arnold Gillette <strong>of</strong> Bristol.The son <strong>of</strong> the late Julius and Minnie Scheidel Horn, he was born in <strong>Burlington</strong> in the homenow occupied by his uncle and aunt, Mr. & Mrs. George Scheidel, Sr. He attended the FouthDistrict School, and participated in local athletics from his early teens.
