Born in <strong>Burlington</strong>, 1-20-1892 Mr. Hodge livedthere most <strong>of</strong> his life, representing <strong>Burlington</strong> in State Legislature in 1934; until he moved toSimsbury to live with his sister. He operated his own engineering and surveying <strong>of</strong>fice inUnionville since 1925. He leaves a brother, Clayton E. <strong>of</strong> Lee, Mass. and 2 sisters, Mrs. EthelH.Rowe <strong>of</strong> Simsbury & Mrs. George Butler <strong>of</strong> Old Saybrook. Burial in Center Cemetery,<strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.HODGE, PHILIP GAYLORD, succumbed to a malignant disease that kept him confined to hisroom for 18 months, d.6-3-1930. He was born in <strong>Burlington</strong> 12-14-1860, within a quarter mile <strong>of</strong>his late home, son <strong>of</strong> the late Woodbridge & Lucretia Hodge. He leaves his wife, (married 1-7-1891) the former Miss Lena Alderman; 2 sons, Merton & Clayton, both <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>; twodaughters, Mrs. Charles Rowe <strong>of</strong> Simsbury & Mrs. George Butler <strong>of</strong> Riverton; a brother, WatsonR. <strong>of</strong> Avon, and a sister, Mrs. James Webster <strong>of</strong> Bristol, & two grandchildren, Kenneth &Millicent Butler. Burial in Center Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.HODGE, WATSON, 75, died 1-1934 at his home in Avon. Uncle <strong>of</strong> Merton & Clayton Hodge<strong>of</strong> this community. Mr. Hodge was a son <strong>of</strong> Woodbridge & Harriet L.Hodge, and was born in<strong>Burlington</strong>, 9-17-1858. He was married 4-1883 to Ida Miller, who, with one son, Ernest MillerHodge, survives him. Most <strong>of</strong> Mr. Hodges' life was spent in Avon, on the farm where he died.Burial in Cider Brook Cemetery, Avon, CT.HOGAN, MABEL C. (Casson) 77, wife <strong>of</strong> Morris B. <strong>of</strong> Covey Road, died. Born in Harwinton7-4-1906, she was the daughter <strong>of</strong> the late Walter and Catherine (Dohman) Casson. In additionto her husband, she is survived by a sister, Mary Shepardson <strong>of</strong> Beums Point, N.Y.; a brother,Edward Cason <strong>of</strong> Torrington. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, CT.HOGAN, MORRIS B. 87, widower <strong>of</strong> Mabel (Casson) Hogan, died 9-27-1989. Born inHarwinton, 2-22-1902, he was the owner <strong>of</strong> Hogan Cider Mill. He served 32 years in the StateLegislature and 29 years on the <strong>Burlington</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Finance. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery,Torrington, CT.HOGAN, RICHARD A. 92, <strong>of</strong> Route 4, <strong>Burlington</strong> died 4-3-1985. He was born 3-13-1893, inHarwinton, a son <strong>of</strong> the late Patrick and Marion (Morris) Hogan. He was a partner with hisbrother <strong>of</strong> Hogan's Farm 74 years, retiring in 1982. He is survived by a brother, Morris B. <strong>of</strong><strong>Burlington</strong>. Burial at New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, CT.HOHBEIN, ANNA(Marwedel) died 4-6-1933 at her home in the Riverside School District, wife<strong>of</strong> William Hoblein, mother to Mrs. Ernest (Helen) Alderman; a sister Mrs. Leo (Ruby) Daniels,both <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>; two brothers, Frank <strong>of</strong> Plainville, and Earl <strong>of</strong> N.Y.C. She was born inGermany, 9-7-1866, residing in <strong>Burlington</strong> since childhood. She married William in 1890.HOHBEIN, EARL W. <strong>of</strong> Wayne, PA formerly <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>, died 10-11-1961. He was born in<strong>Burlington</strong>, 5-23-1904, a son <strong>of</strong> Mr. and Mrs. William Hohbein. He received a law degree fromFordham University. He is survived by his wife, Adella (Brown) Hohbein, a son Earl B. <strong>of</strong>Wayne, a brother, Frank W. <strong>of</strong> Plainville, and two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Alderman and Mrs. LeoDaniels, both <strong>of</strong> Collinsville. Burial in Village Cemetery, Collinsville, CT.HOHBEIN, WILLIAM, died 1-1936. Mr. Hohbein was born in Germany, came to the U.S. andsettled in <strong>Burlington</strong> at the age <strong>of</strong> 17. At his death he was member <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Education,and Justice <strong>of</strong> the Peace. Twice he represented the town in the Legislature. He was long aforeman in the Collins Company, and active in the German Lutheran Church. He leaves twosons, Frank <strong>of</strong> Plainville and Earl <strong>of</strong> NYC. Two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Ruby) Daniels & Mrs.Ernest (Helen) Alderman.HOLCOMB, SARAH S. died 10-19-1958. She was born in <strong>Burlington</strong>, 8-15-1870, a daughter<strong>of</strong> Gilbert and Caroline (Wilkinson) Holcomb. A member <strong>of</strong> Trinity Episcopal Church, Collinsville.She leaves severaL cousins. Burial in Collinsville Cemetery, Collinsville, CT.56
