Nick and his wife were founding members <strong>of</strong> St. PanteleimonRussian Orthodox Church <strong>of</strong> Hartford. He is survived by a sister, Irene Bashkir<strong>of</strong>f. Burial inCenter Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong> CT.BATTISTONI, ADELINE (Brighenty) 83, <strong>of</strong> Monce Road, <strong>Burlington</strong>, wife <strong>of</strong> Harry, died 6-4-1984. She was born 9-1-1900, in New Britain, and lived in <strong>Burlington</strong> 50 years. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britainn, CT.BATTISTONI HARRY J. 95, a former New Britain building contractor who developed LakeGarda, a housing complex on the <strong>Burlington</strong>-Farmington line, died at his home in Boynton, FL(11-4?-1987) He was the widower <strong>of</strong> Adeline (above) Born in Italy, he settled in New Britain andwent to work for a building contractor. He later formed his own company, which built apartmentson Jubilee and East Streets, the former Arch Street Theater and Holy Trinity Greek CatholicChurch on Beaver street. In the 1920's he began buying 3,500 acres <strong>of</strong> land in the <strong>Burlington</strong>-Farmington area and created Lake Garda, which he named after his boyhood home. Thedevelopment around it eventually housed more than 500 homes. A later project was the creation<strong>of</strong> Lake Como in <strong>Burlington</strong>. Recently, he had continued to make plans for about 400 acreswhich remain <strong>of</strong> the original tract. He hoped to build a health clinic there. He also ownedproperty in FL. Surviving are a son, Alvin <strong>of</strong> Plainville; a daughter Elvira Jendrejack <strong>of</strong> PalmBeach, FL; a sister, Anesta Consolini <strong>of</strong> Southington, CT.BAYETTE, GRACE (Hubble) 78, <strong>of</strong> Clear Brook Road, <strong>Burlington</strong>, wife <strong>of</strong> Kenneth C.Bayette,died 5-11-1988. She was born 4-9-1910, in Naugatuck and lived in Watertown prior to moving to<strong>Burlington</strong> 49 years ago. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Charles <strong>of</strong>Simsbury, Donald <strong>of</strong> Watertown, NY, and Roger <strong>of</strong> Bakerville; two daughters, Joan Crandall <strong>of</strong><strong>Burlington</strong> and Carrie Brauner <strong>of</strong> Black River Falls, WI, 12 grandchildren. Burial in CenterCemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.BECHARD, ALBERT J. Sr. 67, <strong>of</strong> Main Street, Whigville, died 6-27-1974. Born 5-13-1907 inBristol, son <strong>of</strong> Medard & Alice (Ryan) Bechard, he moved to Whigville 31 years ago from Bristol.Surviving are his wife, Julia (Pavlik) Bechard <strong>of</strong> Whigville; three sons, Albert J. Jr. & James W.both <strong>of</strong> Whigville and Douglas A. <strong>of</strong> Bristol; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara A.Smith <strong>of</strong> Portsmouth,NH; five grandchildren. Burial at Center Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.BECHARD, ALBERT J. 66, <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>, loving husband <strong>of</strong> Judith (Sjogren) Bechard, diedWednesday (September 28, 2005) at home. Albert was born in Bristol on November 14, 1938and was a son <strong>of</strong> Julia (Pavlik) Bechard <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong> and the late Albert J. Bechard, Sr. Heresided in <strong>Burlington</strong> most <strong>of</strong> his life and was employed at Tilcon for over 30 years beforeretiring five years ago. He was a member <strong>of</strong> the I.U.O.E. Local 472, Hamden, the <strong>Burlington</strong>Men's Club, the Torrington Elk's Lodge, and he served with the Connecticut Air National13
