She was a graduate <strong>of</strong> CT State University. Mrs. Gilchrist was a teacher in the<strong>Burlington</strong> School system for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1966. She was a member <strong>of</strong> St.Patrick's Church in Collinsville, the Retired Teacher's Association <strong>of</strong> CT, <strong>Burlington</strong> HistoricalSociety, <strong>Burlington</strong> Library Association, <strong>Burlington</strong> Senior Citizens and was very active on the<strong>Burlington</strong> Democratic <strong>Town</strong> Committee. Burial in CenterCemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.GILL, DAVID, 80; The house owned by Clarence Case, which was occupied byC.H.Johnson, situated about two miles east <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>, was destroyed by fire about midnightlast Sunday. David Gill, age 80 years, perished in the flames. The inmates were Mr. Johnson,Mrs. Johnson, two children and David Gill, father <strong>of</strong> Mrs. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson and thechildren were with some difficulty removed from the house, while Mr. Johnson went to the upperfloor to rescue Mr. Gill. He aroused the aged man and started him down stairs, while he enteredanother room, for some purpose. On reaching the ground Mr. Johnson discovered that old Mr.Gill was missing. It was too late to search for him by this time the flames had enveloped thehouse. Mr. Gill must have become dazed and losing his way wandered into a side-room. 1910, he was a son <strong>of</strong> the late E. Samuel and Miriam (Curtiss) Gillette. He had resided in Bristolsince 1917, and operated the Maple Row Farm, until 1956. Prior to retiring in 1980, he wasemployed at the Bristol Water Department. Mr. Gillette is survived by four sons, Robert G. andEdwin A. Gillette, both <strong>of</strong> Bristol, George 0. Rindfleisch <strong>of</strong> Terryville, and Paul B.
