Burial in Center Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.HURDER, EDNA CARRIE, 12, daughter <strong>of</strong> Benjamin and Inez Hurder, died <strong>of</strong> appendicitis inthe St. Francis Hospital 1923, 8-21-1934. Two weeks earlier she was the gayest <strong>of</strong> the gay atthe church and S.S. picnic; today she was laid to rest until the resurrection. He lived in <strong>Burlington</strong> most <strong>of</strong> his life before moving to Harwinton eight yearsago where he owned and operated W.K. Jabs Plumbing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Jabs issurvived by a son, Seth J. Jabs <strong>of</strong> Bristol; a brother, David W. Jabs <strong>of</strong> Barkhamsted; two sisters,Jo Ann Hagan <strong>of</strong> Kensington and Sharon Choinski <strong>of</strong> Glastonbury; and several nieces andnephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 11 a.m. at Funk FuneralHome, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol with the Rev. H. Lane Bridges, Pastor <strong>of</strong> Immanuel LutheranChurch, Bristol <strong>of</strong>ficiating. Burial will follow in <strong>Burlington</strong> Center Cemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>. He was a veteran <strong>of</strong> WW II in the US Army. He is survivedby his step-mother, Anna (Theen) Jabs <strong>of</strong> Bristol; two sons, David <strong>of</strong> Barkhamsted and WilliamK. <strong>of</strong> Bristol; two daughters, JoAnn Hagan <strong>of</strong> Terryville and Sharon Choinski <strong>of</strong> Glastonbury; abrother George Jabs <strong>of</strong> Bristol; a sister Helen Henderson <strong>of</strong> Terryville. Burial in CenterCemetery, <strong>Burlington</strong>, CT.JANAS, HELENA "Lala"(Staniszewski) 72, <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burlington</strong>, wife to Zbigniew Edmund, died 4-8-1999. She was born in Poland, daughter <strong>of</strong> Maria & Henryk Staniszewski. As a young girl shetook part in the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, was evacuated by the Nazis and taken to Germany,first to a Concentration Camp and then to forced labor camps, where she worked until beingliberated by the Allied Forces. She survived the Warsaw Uprising and again the alliedBombardment <strong>of</strong> Germany. She came to the US with her husband and two sons in 1959 and60
