ForewordThis is the fourth volume of a series of expert reviews of the chemical thermodynamicsof key chemical elements in nuclear technology and waste management. The recommendedthermodynamic data are the result of a critical assessment of publishedinformation.The data base system developed at the Data Bank of the OECD Nuclear EnergyAgency (NEA), cf. Section 2.6, ensures consistency not only within the recommendeddata sets on neptunium and plutonium, but also among all the data sets to be publishedin the series.The NEA Data Bank provides a number of services that may be useful to the readerof this book.• The recommended data can be obtained via Internet directly from the NEA DataBank.• The NEA Data Bank maintains a library of computer programs in variousareas.
