Welcome
Welcome group members and invited guests. Introduce the guests, and allow everyone to mingle
for 5 to 0 minutes.
Session Overview
Say: “The objectives for today’s session are for us to review how small steps in eating and physical activity
have led to big rewards for each person in our group.”
Review of the Previous Session
Say: “In the last session, we learned how to recognize negative feelings and stress; how to cope
with feelings of stress in a positive way, especially by involving others; and how to change
negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Before we get started with today’s session, let’s
see how everyone did last week.”
Check-In: Pledge and GAME PLAN Food and Activity
Tracker; Barrier Busters
Facilitate a discussion about how group members did with keeping their pledges and
using their Food and Activity Trackers. Also ask about the barriers they have faced since the last
session. Ask for suggestions from group members on how to ‘bust’ these barriers.
