1CEB SERIES OVERCENTRE VALVEFULLY BALANCED - PILOT ASSISTED1CEB30POPPET RELIEF1VALVE (2)PILOT (3)VENT3CYL (1)2ATMOSPHERICVENT6APPLICATIONOvercentre valves give static and dynamic control ofloads by supplying a counterbalance pressure to theactuator. They prevent runaway in the event of hoseburst and hold the load with minimal leakage. The pressure balanced valve is unaffected by backpressure, allowing service line reliefs to operate andfor the valve to be used in regenerative or proportionalvalve systems. The overcentre valve should be mounted either into, onto or as close to the actuator as possible to givemaximum protection.Single overcentre valves control unidirectional loadssuch as in aerial platforms, cranes or winches anddual overcentres are suited to bi-directional motionsuch as wheel motor applications or cylinders goingover centre.OPERATIONThe check section allows free flow into the actuatorthen holds and locks the load against movement. Thepilot assisted relief valve section will give controlledmovement when pliot pressure is applied. The reliefsection is normally set to open at a pressure at least1.3 times the maximum load induced pressure but thepressure required to open the valve and allowmovement depends on the pilot ratio of the valve. Foroptimisation of load control and energy usage, achoice of pilot ratios is available. The pressure required to open the valve and startactuator movement can be calculated as follows:Pilot Pressure = (Relief Setting) - (Load Pressure)Pilot RatioPILOT RATIO5:1SPECIFICATIONSFigures based on: Oil Temp = 40°C Viscosity = 40 cStRated FlowMax SettingCartridge MaterialBody MaterialMounting PositionCavity NumberTorque Cartridgeinto CavityWeightSeal Kit NumberRecommendedFiltration LevelOperating TempLeakageNominal ViscosityRange30 litres/min (8 US GPM)Max Load InducedPressure: 270 bar (4000 psi)Relief Setting: 350 bar (5000 psi)Working parts hardened and groundsteel.
