There are manyapplications for this valve type, the most commonbeing to lock and hold a cylinder, or another hydraulicactuator, in position.A pilot relief valve will protect the cylinder and hosesfrom thermal expansion of the hydraulic fluid.OPERATIONPressure on the valve port causes the poppet to liftagainst the spring force, allowing the flow to thecylinder port. Reverse flow is prevented by the poppetreseating. Pressure applied to the pilot port willovercome the cylinder port pressure and lift the poppetfrom its seat, allowing flow from the cylinder to valveport.In dual pilot check valves, each pilot section is crossconnected to the opposite line giving automatic pilotoperation in both directions. When the pressure in C1rises above the setting of the relief valve, the reliefvalve will open, allowing flow to the V1 port, relievingpressure on the cylinder.FEATURESHardened and ground poppet gives excellent flowcapability for valve size, positive sealing and long workinglife.
