1CEBD SERIES OVERCENTRE VALVEFULLY BALANCED - PILOT ASSISTED1CEBD120POPPET RELIEF1VALVE (2)PILOT (3)DRAIN (4)3CYL (1)4 26APPLICATIONOvercentre valves give static and dynamic control ofloads by supplying a counterbalance pressure to theactuator. They prevent runaway in the event of hoseburst and hold the load with minimal leakage. The pressure balanced valve is unaffected by backpressure, allowing service line reliefs to operate and forthe valve to be used in regenerative or proportionalvalve systems. The overcentre valve should be mounted either into, onto or as close to the actuator as possible to givemaximum protection.Single overcentre valves control unidirectional loadssuch as in aerial platforms, cranes or winches and dualovercentres are suited to bi-directional motion such aswheel motor applications or cylinders going over centre.OPERATIONThe check section allows free flow into the actuatorthen holds and locks the load against movement. Thepilot assisted relief valve section will give controlledmovement when pilot pressure is applied. The reliefsection is normally set to open at a pressure at least1.3 times the maximum load induced pressure but thepressure required to open the valve and allowmovement depends on the pilot ratio of the valve. Foroptimisation of load control and energy usage, a choiceof pilot ratios is available. The pressure required to open the valve and startactuator movement can be calculated as follows:Pilot Pressure = (Relief Setting) - (Load Pressure)Pilot RatioFEATURESCartridge is economical and fits simple ‘dual purpose’cavity. Allows quick, easy field service - reduces downtime.PILOT RATIOS3:1 Best suited for applications where load variesand machine structure can induce instability8:1 Best suited for applications where the load12:1 remains relatively constant.22:1 Specifically designed for Boom Lockapplications.SPECIFICATIONSFigures based on: Oil Temp = 40°C Viscosity = 40 cStRated FlowMax SettingCartridge MaterialMounting PositionCavity NumberTorque Cartridgeinto CavityWeightSeal Kit NumberRecommendedFiltration LevelOperating TempLeakageNominal ViscosityRangeBar per turn180 litres/min (47 US GPM)BMax Load InducedPressure: 270 bar (4000 psi)Relief Setting 400 bar (5800 psi)Working parts hardened and groundsteel.
