2CFD SERIES FLOW DIVIDER/COMBINER2CFD2001 3OUTLET (1) OUTLET (3)2INLET(2)10APPLICATIONThe 2CFD range of flow divider/combiner valves givesdivision of input flow into two equal parts andre-combination of flow in the reverse direction. Pressurecompensation ensures that whether dividing orcombining, equal flow is maintained over a wide rangeof pressure variation. A typical use of these valves is todivide a pump flow to operate two actuators (whichmay be under different load conditions and at differentpressures) and to re-combine the return flows tosynchronise actuator movement. Flow variation iswithin ±10% with the maximum variation of pressureand inlet flow and under normal conditions will besignificantly less.OPERATIONInlet flow passes through the two matched orifices in thespools, through the spools and out of the radial holes inthe sleeve. The matched orifices and the compensatingsprings ensure that the flow is divided equally, excessflow in either direction causes the spool to move andclose the radial holes in the sleeve until equilibrium isrestored.
