When installed close to an actuator, thevalve can stop runaway in the event of hose burst. Thevalves also give dual thermal and overload reliefprotection.A low pressure tank or charge line may be connectedto the T port to provide a make-up flow to eitheractuator port.OPERATIONThe check section allows free flow into the actuatorthen holds and locks the load against movement. Thepilot assisted relief valve section will give controlledmovement when pilot pressure is applied. The reliefsection is normally set to open at a pressure at least1.3 times the maximum load induced pressure but thepressure required to open the valve and allowmovement depends on the pilot ratio of the valve. Foroptimisation of load control and energy usage, achoice of pilot ratios is available.The pressure required to open the valve and startactuator movement can be calculated as follows:Pilot Pressure = (Relief Setting) - (Load Pressure)Pilot RatioA system of check valves allows crossline relief fordynamic applications with the optional make up facilityto compensate for any change in system volume.FEATURESThese valves provide complete circuit control andprotection in a single valve body, reducing installation timeand cost.
