"Quicito dat bis dat, qui tardat munera, nil dat." <strong>The</strong>re is also a quotation from Lu<strong>ca</strong>n (LI, 1.) " Tollemores, semper nocuit differre paiatis," and a legal precept, " Nocte dieque leges si vis addiscereleges." <strong>The</strong> favourite motto <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> writer, and one which occurs in all his <strong>book</strong>s, " patior ut potiar "I" through suffering, strength ") is twice written here.190. 1574. March 3. --At Edinburgh. Admission <strong>of</strong> Robert <strong>Wedderburn</strong> as notary.It recites that "comperit personale Robert <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, burgess <strong>of</strong> Dundee,quhair he was born within <strong>the</strong> diocie <strong>of</strong> Mrechinen, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> twenty audityeiris or thairby unmaryit" . . . and that he "hes maid day lie seruice to Alex.
