June 1.—Charter by William Fairnie <strong>of</strong> that ilk to Peter Rolland <strong>of</strong> Dundee,<strong>of</strong> two parts <strong>of</strong> Grange <strong>of</strong> Barrie, co. Forfar. Witnessed by John <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, son toAlexander W. burgess <strong>of</strong> Cupar, and o<strong>the</strong>rs. Dated atCupar. (Latin, parchment.) vin, i,16.103. 1593. Aug 3.—Discharge and renunciation by Robert '<strong>Wedderburn</strong>, elder, bro<strong>the</strong>r<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> late Alexander <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, clerk <strong>of</strong> Dundee, for <strong>the</strong> sum <strong>of</strong> six score poundspayed to him by Robert <strong>Wedderburn</strong>, lawful son <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said umquhile Alexander, andheritable proprietor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> land hereby renounced, namely " that foir land up anddown . . . pertaining to <strong>the</strong> said Robert in heritage, by and upon <strong>the</strong> North syid <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> Ergylisgait."
