AustinQbiectives: Develop a highquality,cold-processedanimal protein <strong>fish</strong> diet <strong>and</strong>evaluate the effect of the dieton survival <strong>and</strong> return of coho<strong>and</strong> chinook salmon.Date initiated: 1983Results/Conclusions: Preliminary adultrecovery data suggest an improvedsurvival for coho salmon fed the testdiets. However, recovery data foradult fall chinook salmon showed inconsistentsurvival, both by brood year<strong>and</strong> stock (tule <strong>and</strong> up<strong>river</strong> bright).Final Analysis of data from returningadults will be completed in 1991.1. Continuing: Contractor will evaluate theeffect of diet on survival <strong>and</strong> return rate ofcoded wire-tagged coho <strong>and</strong> chinook salmon.2.
