Table 4 covers research projects, evaluation projects, <strong>and</strong> habitat<strong>and</strong> passage enhancement projects. The last group is listed bysub<strong>basin</strong>, beginning with the Willamette/Clackamas River sub<strong>basin</strong> <strong>and</strong>proceeding up<strong>river</strong> to the Salmon River sub<strong>basin</strong>. Informationpresented in the Table includes: the project description, currentproject status, <strong>and</strong> contract-effective period.In FY 1987, BPA developed an Implementation Plan outline for habitat<strong>and</strong> passage enhancement projects <strong>and</strong> asked Project Leaders tocomplete Implementation Plans in FY 1988. BPA funding in FY 1988 wascontingent upon completion of plans for all ongoing <strong>and</strong> newprojects. Plans were completed for ongoing projects funded inFY 1988.These habitat <strong>and</strong> passage enhancement project Implementation Planswill improve planning <strong>and</strong> scheduling of implementation efforts <strong>and</strong>will clearly define the projects. The plans will also enable BPA toaccurately determine the funding required for completion of aproject. Each completed Implementation Plan contains:1) background information, such as specific project location,existing conditions, <strong>fish</strong>ery resources, l<strong>and</strong> use activities, <strong>and</strong>limiting factors; 2) enhancement techniques <strong>and</strong> an implementationschedule; 3) expected increase in <strong>fish</strong> production due to the project;4) methods for monitoring physical habitat changes resulting from theproject; <strong>and</strong> 5) cost of the project, including total cost <strong>and</strong> cost byfiscal year. BPA expects projects to be implemented as planned <strong>and</strong>scheduled in the Implementation Plans.Plans:BPA will continue to implement the projects listed in Action Item 4.2(If they are needed in the immediate future> <strong>and</strong> plans to completemost of them by 1991.48
