6.46.4 DATA COLLECTION FOR NATURAL PRODUCTION DATA BASE(Fund in Response to System Monitoring <strong>and</strong> Evaluation Work GroupProposals)206(e)(2)Natural Production Data Base. BPA shall fund collection ofinformation on the natural production of anadromous <strong>fish</strong> in theColumbia River Basin. Data to be collected shall include, at aminimum: adult escapement, redd counts, <strong>and</strong> juvenile migrationfor key index streams in the Columbia River Basin. The keyindex streams shall be consistent with any key index streamsidentified through the U.S./Canada Pacific Salmon Treaty <strong>and</strong>other planning processes. Data collected shall be stored in theCouncil's anadromous <strong>fish</strong> data base.ACTION ITEM ACTIVITY SUMMARY:Objectives:To develop <strong>and</strong> implement the Natural Production Data Base.Background <strong>and</strong> Proqress to Date:Plans:Projects:The scoping of the CIS in FY 1989 (Project 88-108-l) provided overallguidance for development of the Natural Production Data Base, as wellas the Hatchery Production Data Base. IDFG has the lead incoordination <strong>and</strong> development of the Natural Production Data BaseTechnical Work Statement by the Council's MEG. No work ondevelopment planned during FY 1990-91. CIS will be designing thedata base during FYs 1991 <strong>and</strong> 1992.Following approval of the Work Statement by the MEG <strong>and</strong> CBFWA, BPAmay be asked to fund a Natural Production Data Base project inFY 1992.None at this time.157
