TheCouncil expects that state-of-the-art technologies will be usedin the design of the hatchery.ACTION ITEM ACTIVITY SUMMARY:Objectives:To design and construct a resident trout hatchery on the ColvilleIndian Reservation to mitigate partially for anadromous fish lossesfrom hydroelectric development and operation.Background and Progress to Date:Plans:The primary purpose of the hatchery is to produce trout to stocklakes and streams on the Reservation. The Colville ConfederatedTribes (CCT> received the construction contract for the hatchery.The final design for the hatchery was completed in October 1987.Construction began in July 1988 and was completed in fall 1989.BPA is funding the operation and maintenance of the facility by theCCT.171
