8.38.3 MITIGATION PLANS(Fund Development>1003(b)(4)[Abstract] Bonneville shall fund the development of mitigationplans for each of the projects listed in Table 3 of the Fish andWildlife Program, including power-related storage and regulatoryDams.ACTION ITEM ACTIVITY SUMMARY:Objectives:To identify target wildlife species for protection, mitigation, andenhancement; to develop protection, mitigation, and enhancementgoals/objectives; and to coordinate mitigation goals/objectives withinterested and involved parties for Federal hydroelectric facilities.Background and Progress to Date:Plans:Action Item 8.3 pertains to the development of wildlife protection,mitigation, and enhancement plans. These plans are to take intoaccount the wildlife impacts identified under Action Item 8.1, are tocomplement existing wildlife management plans and goals, and are totake into account the standards outlined in Measure 1003(b)(4)(C).Wildlife protection, mitigation, and enhancement goals/objectivesdeveloped in these plans are submitted to the Council for theirapproval and prioritization.Table 9 outlines the status of mitigation plans at FCRPS facilities.Mitigation plans have been completed for 16 of the 29 FCRPSfacilities. Mitigation plans are not anticipated for seven FCRPSfacilities (Roza, Chandler, Boise Diversion, and Lower SnakeFacilities>.Mitigation plans for Chief Joseph, Minidoka, Bonneville, The Dalles,John Day, and McNary Dams will continue and be completed in FY 1991.2 1 9
