The Marketing certificate program is designed for students who are interested<br />
in a career change or who already have a degree <strong>and</strong> are looking for a career<br />
specialty.<br />

Students may enroll full- or part- time. Since some courses are not offered in<br />
both the fall <strong>and</strong> spring semesters, see an advisor about your schedule. Note:<br />

Media Technology, Certificate<br />
Program Design<br />
The Media Technology certificate program provides an intensive exposure to a<br />
range of current communication technologies. It is intended for students who<br />
are technically oriented <strong>and</strong> wish to work in technical positions in the fields<br />
of radio, television, photography, desktop publishing <strong>and</strong> cable television. It<br />
concentrates on teaching skills that are necessary for working behind-thescenes<br />
in media <strong>and</strong> communications. Classes are highly practical <strong>and</strong> provide<br />
significant h<strong>and</strong>s-on opportunity, allowing the student to apply classroom theory<br />
to real-life projects. In developing this certificate program, extensive effort was<br />
made to provide skills that are currently in high dem<strong>and</strong> in the Connecticut<br />
labor market.<br />
Curriculum<br />
The program can be completed in two semesters of rigorous, full-time study,<br />
but will take longer for the student attending part-time.<br />

3. Underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> apply the basic principles of graphic arts <strong>and</strong> design<br />
techniques.<br />
4. Operate still <strong>and</strong> video cameras <strong>and</strong> edit videotape.<br />
5. Conduct interviews for newspaper stories <strong>and</strong> television programs.<br />
6. Write scripts for radio <strong>and</strong> television programs.<br />
