Principles of investment management, including the study of stocks, bonds,<br />

government securities, mutual funds, futures, options, <strong>and</strong> tangible assets for<br />

investment to construct <strong>and</strong> manage an investment portfolio with knowledge<br />

of risk <strong>and</strong> tax considerations are covered. Time value of money calculations<br />

BFP* 250: Retirement Planning <strong>and</strong> Employee Benefits<br />

A survey of the key terms <strong>and</strong> concepts of retirement planning <strong>and</strong> analysis of<br />

employee benefit programs using time value of money calculations. Students<br />

will study both private corporate pension plans <strong>and</strong> government programs,<br />

including social security <strong>and</strong> Medicare, as well as qualified <strong>and</strong> nonqualified<br />

BFP* 260: Estate Planning<br />

A survey of principles of estate planning, including discussion of descent<br />

<strong>and</strong> distribution, wills, intestacy, probate <strong>and</strong> administration, Probate Court,<br />

estate <strong>and</strong> gift tax returns, <strong>and</strong> fiduciary accounting. Prerequisite: BFP* 210<br />

BFP* 265: Case Study <strong>and</strong> Analysis<br />

(formerly FNCE 265: Personal Financial Planning Case Study <strong>and</strong> Analysis)<br />

A course covering case study <strong>and</strong> analysis <strong>and</strong> integration of the six major<br />

areas of personal financial planning. Upon completion of the course, students<br />

will be able to analyze a case <strong>and</strong> prepare an appropriate financial plan for a<br />

This course will provide students with a detailed level of underst<strong>and</strong>ing of<br />

both Business <strong>and</strong> Strategic Plans. Upon researching <strong>and</strong> evaluating plans<br />

for small businesses, students will prepare a Business Plan, which would be<br />

used, for exploring a business opportunity or soliciting funds <strong>and</strong> a Strategic<br />

Plan to ensure the health <strong>and</strong> direction of a business. Prerequisite: BES* 118<br />

This course provides students with a foundation for conducting international<br />

business designed to provide a global perspective on international<br />

trade including topics in: foreign investment, international marketing, the operations<br />

This course provides students interested in developing nations or the Third<br />

World with a background for conducting business or working for the U.S. government<br />
