About Variables<br />

Variables to Be Used in Instruction Text Interface<br />

Calls<br />

The following variables can only be used in instruction text interface<br />

calls executed on the Java-based operator GUI.<br />

<br />

Starts a program or script on the client where the<br />

Java-based GUI is currently running as a result of the<br />

instruction text interface call.<br />

For example, to start Microsoft Internet Explorer on<br />

the Java GUI client, enter the following in the<br />

Instruction Text Interface Call field in the<br />

administrator GUI:<br />

"C:\Program Files\<br />

Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"<br />

Starts a web browser on the client where the<br />

Java-based GUI is currently running as a result of the<br />

instruction text interface call.<br />

For example, to start a web browser on the Java GUI<br />

client at the URL http://www.hp.com, enter the<br />

following in the Instruction Text Interface Call<br />

field in the administrator GUI:<br />

http://www.hp.com<br />

Depending on the configuration of the Java GUI<br />

workspace, either the embedded or an external web<br />

browser is started.<br />
