Configuring <strong>HP</strong>OM<br />

About Preconfigured Elements<br />

If the file does not contain a valid entry <strong>for</strong> the ownership mode, <strong>HP</strong>OM<br />

assumes the default value OPC_OWN_MODE ENFORCED.<br />

Configuring Message Ownership Display Mode<br />

The <strong>HP</strong>OM administrator can choose the ownership display mode to<br />

determine the way in which message ownership is displayed. To change<br />

the message ownership display mode:<br />

1. Close all running GUIs and stop the <strong>HP</strong> <strong>Operations</strong> management<br />

server processes be<strong>for</strong>e editing the opcsvinfo file. The configuration<br />

is global and affects all <strong>HP</strong>OM sessions.<br />

2. Open and edit the <strong>HP</strong> <strong>Operations</strong> management server configuration<br />

file /opt/OV/bin/OpC/install/opcsvinfo.<br />

3. Add one of the following options to the file:<br />

OPC_OWN_DISPLAY STATUS_PROPAGATE<br />

OPC_OWN_DISPLAY NO_STATUS_PROPAGATE<br />

4. Save and close the file.<br />

5. Restart the <strong>HP</strong> <strong>Operations</strong> management server processes <strong>for</strong> the new<br />

configuration to be read.<br />

6. Restart the <strong>HP</strong>OM GUI.<br />

If the file does not contain a valid entry <strong>for</strong> the ownership mode, <strong>HP</strong>OM<br />

assumes the default value OPC_OWN_DISPLAY NO_STATUS_PROPAGATE.<br />

About Template Groups<br />

The template administrator uses the Message Source Templates<br />

window to add, modify, or delete templates and template groups.<br />

Types of Default Template Groups<br />

Default template groups are provided with the OS-SPI <strong>for</strong> the following<br />

plat<strong>for</strong>ms: AIX, <strong>HP</strong>-UX, Linux, Sun Solaris, Tru64 <strong>UNIX</strong>, and Windows.<br />

For more in<strong>for</strong>mation on default template groups provided with the<br />

OS-SPI, refer to the OS-SPI documentation.<br />
