Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses<br />

To Change the Hostname or IP Address of an HTTPS Managed<br />

Node<br />

Per<strong>for</strong>m the following steps to change the hostname or IP address of an<br />

HTTPS-based managed node:<br />

1. Reconfigure the <strong>HP</strong>OM managed node system with the new<br />

hostname or IP address and restart the system.<br />

On the managed node, change the hostname or IP address of the<br />

system as described in the documentation supplied with the<br />

operating system. Then restart the system <strong>for</strong> your changes to take<br />

effect.<br />

2. Change the node name or IP address of the managed node in<br />

the <strong>HP</strong>OM database.<br />

On the management server, execute the opc_node_change.pl script:<br />

opc_node_change.pl -oldname \<br />

-oldaddr -newname \<br />

-newaddr [,,...]<br />

See “opc_node_change.pl” on page 412 <strong>for</strong> more in<strong>for</strong>mation about<br />

this command line tool.<br />

3. IP address changes only.<br />

Set OPC_IP_ADDRESS to the new IP address. Enter the following<br />

command on the management server:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/opcragt -set_config_var \<br />

eaagt:OPC_IP_ADDRESS= <br />
