Accessing NNM from the Java GUI<br />

Types of OV Applications Available from the Java GUI<br />

In the Java GUI, operators can choose from the following applications:<br />

Highlight Message Node<br />

Maps the node related to a selected message to an NNM system, and<br />

highlights the node in an ovw session of that NNM system. By<br />

default, the target NNM system is the <strong>HP</strong>OM management server.<br />

Highlight Selected Node<br />

Maps the selected node to an NNM system, and highlights the node<br />

in an ovw session of that NNM system. By default, the selected NNM<br />

system is the <strong>HP</strong>OM management server.<br />

Start ovw<br />

Starts an ovw session on a remote NNM system.<br />

About the “opcctrlovw” Command<br />

When an OV application is started from the Java GUI, the Java GUI<br />

server process calls the opcctrlovw command on the management<br />

server’s agent. The command will always be run with the <strong>UNIX</strong> user<br />

account opc_op.<br />

You start the opcctrlovw command with the following syntax:<br />

opcctrlovw<br />

-display <br />

-user <br />

-action { ...}<br />

In this command, you use the following variables:<br />

Configured X display of the Java GUI.<br />

<strong>HP</strong>OM operator name.<br />

<br />

<br />

Application registration name of the OV application to<br />

be started.<br />

Action of the OV application to be started.<br />

, , ... IP hostnames of all selected nodes from the<br />

node tree of the Java GUI.<br />
