If your management server runs with the character set Shift JIS, but<br />

your managed nodes are running with the character set EUC, you must<br />

do one of the following:<br />

Convert the management server configuration files <strong>for</strong> flexible<br />

management from Shift JIS to EUC.<br />

Convert the managed nodes from EUC to Shift JIS.<br />

Converting the Management Server to EUC<br />

You can synchronize the character <strong>for</strong>mat of the management server<br />

with that of the managed nodes by manually converting the MoM<br />

configuration file on the management server from Shift JIS to EUC.<br />

To convert the MoM configuration file on the management server from<br />

Shift JIS to EUC, enter the following:<br />

<strong>HP</strong>-UX<br />

/usr/bin/iconv -f sjis -t euc > <br />

Solaris<br />

/usr/bin/iconv -f PCK -t eucJP > <br />

In this command, is the name of the original configuration<br />

file in Shift JIS, and is the IP address of the managed node in<br />

hexadecimal, as returned by the command opc_ip_addr.<br />
