Maintaining <strong>HP</strong>OM<br />

Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses<br />

10. Update all managed nodes with the new hostname of the<br />

management server.<br />

Per<strong>for</strong>m the following steps on HTTPS-based managed nodes that<br />

are configured in the Node Bank and which are running an <strong>HP</strong>OM<br />

agent:<br />

a. Stop all <strong>HP</strong>OM agent processes on the managed nodes, enter:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovc -kill<br />

b. Specify the new hostname of the management server in the<br />

security name space:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovconfchg -ns sec.core.auth \<br />

-set MANAGER <br />

c. If the certificate server is located on the same system as the<br />

management server, the CERTIFICATE_SERVER variable must<br />

also be updated. Enter:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovconfchg -ns sec.cm.client \<br />

-set CERTIFICATE_SERVER <br />

d. Restart all <strong>HP</strong>OM agent processes by entering:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovc -start<br />

11. Change the primary management server.<br />

If the modified <strong>HP</strong> <strong>Operations</strong> management server is configured as a<br />

primary manager <strong>for</strong> some managed nodes, update those managed<br />

nodes by running the following command from the modified <strong>HP</strong><br />

<strong>Operations</strong> management server:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/opcragt -primmgr [-all | \<br />

[-nodegrp …] …]<br />

12. Verify and redistribute the templates.<br />

Verify that the templates are still assigned to the managed nodes.<br />

Then redistribute the templates.<br />

13. Update flexible management environments.<br />

• Make sure that your hostname and IP address changes are<br />

reflected in all configurations and templates across the entire<br />

flexible-management environment.<br />
