Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses<br />

To Reconfigure the Management Server after Changing its<br />

Hostname or IP Address<br />

To reconfigure the management server after changing its hostname or IP<br />

address, follow these steps:<br />

1. Stop the management server.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstop opc ovoacomm ovctrl<br />

2. Update the <strong>HP</strong> <strong>Operations</strong> management server registration.<br />

If you have changed the hostname, update the <strong>HP</strong> <strong>Operations</strong><br />

management server registration. Enter the following:<br />

rm /etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/svreg<br />

touch /etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/svreg<br />

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/install/opcsvreg \<br />

-add /etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/itosvr.reg<br />

To find out how to reconfigure additionally installed subagent<br />

packages, see the manuals supplied with these packages.<br />

3. If NNM discovery is enabled on the management server.<br />

If NNM discovery is enabled, per<strong>for</strong>m the following steps. If NNM<br />

discovery is disabled, you can skip these steps.<br />

a. Start the <strong>HP</strong> Topology <strong>Manager</strong> Daemon Service.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart ovtopmd<br />

b. Stop the netmon process.<br />

If the netmon process automatically starts when the system<br />

starts, stop the netmon process.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstop netmon<br />

c. Remove all entries from the SNMP configuration cache.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/xnmsnmpconf -clearCache<br />
