HP Performance Agent Installing and De-Installing HP Performance Agent Installing and De-Installing HP Performance Agent This section describes how to install and de-install HP Performance Agent on HPOM managed nodes. Installing HP Performance Agent You can install HP Performance Agent on supported managed nodes using the standard or manual installation methods. TIP For additional installation and configuration information, see the HP Performance Agent Installation and Concepts Guide. HP Performance Agent Installing and De-Installing HP Performance Agent Standard Installation of HP Performance Agent To install HP Performance Agent on a supported managed node using standard installation, run the product_inst.sh script. The location of the script is as follows: /opt/OV/bin/OpC/agtinstall/product_inst.sh Install the HPOM agent software on the managed node where you want to run HP Performance Agent. When installing HP Performance Agent with standard installation, you must enter the system(s) for which software maintenance should be done, the platform name, and the subagent products installed on the management server. Manual Installation of HP Performance Agent To install HP Performance Agent on a managed node without using the management server, follow these steps: 1. Make sure the selected temporary directory on the managed node contains the required disk space specified in the HP Performance Agent Installation and Concepts Guide. 2. Copy the appropriate package and installation files from the management server to a temporary directory of the managed node. See “HP Performance Agent Package and Installation Files” on page 194 for a list of files and directories for each platform. 3. To install the files, enter the following command on the managed node: a. Go to the directory containing the package and installation files copied from the HP Operations management server. b. On Windows HTTPS managed nodes only, unzip the package file with the command: unzip ovpa_pkg.zip c. For HTTPS managed nodes, start the installation with the command: ovpa_inst INSTALL Chapter 4 193
