Configuring Notification Services and Trouble Ticket Systems<br />

TIP<br />

Instead of modifying each condition separately, you could also set up<br />

a global flexible management template <strong>for</strong> service hours and<br />

scheduled outages to define which messages are <strong>for</strong>warded to the<br />

notification service. See “Forwarding Messages to a Trouble Ticket or<br />

Notification Interface” on page 111 <strong>for</strong> more in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

Configuring Trouble Ticket Systems<br />

To configure a trouble ticket system, follow these high-level steps:<br />

1. Set up the trouble ticket system.<br />

Do the following:<br />

a. Write a script or program that calls the trouble ticket system.<br />

For details, see “Guidelines <strong>for</strong> Writing Scripts and Programs” on<br />

page 242.<br />

b. Set up a trouble ticket call by using the opctt command. For<br />

example:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/opctt -enable /opt/OV/bin/OpC\<br />

/extern_intf/ttns_mail.sh<br />

2. Forward messages to a trouble ticket system.<br />

Configure messages to be <strong>for</strong>warded to the trouble ticket system.<br />

Define which messages are <strong>for</strong>warded to the trouble ticket system by<br />

setting a switch in the corresponding condition in the policy.<br />
