Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses<br />

4. Hostname changes only and if NNM discovery is enabled on<br />

the management server.<br />

If NNM discovery is enabled, per<strong>for</strong>m the following steps on the<br />

management server. If NNM discovery is disabled, you can skip these<br />

steps.<br />

a. Start the Topology <strong>Manager</strong> Daemon Service. Enter the<br />

following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart ovtopmd<br />

b. If the netmon process automatically starts when the system<br />

starts, stop the netmon process. Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstop netmon<br />

c. Remove all entries from the SNMP configuration cache. Enter<br />

the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/xnmsnmpconf -clearCache<br />

d. Update the creation time of objects contained in the ovtopmd<br />

database. Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovtopofix -U<br />

This command causes the objects to display again in all maps the<br />

next time they are synchronized.<br />

e. Restart the netmon process. Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart netmon<br />

f. Update <strong>HP</strong> Software with the changed hostname. Enter the<br />

following:<br />

ping <br />

g. Update the Topology Database. Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/nmdemandpoll <br />

h. Restart the daemons:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart<br />
