About the “Informational” Ownership Mode
In informational mode, a marked message indicates that an operator has
taken note of a message. Marking a message is for informational
purposes only. Unlike optional and enforced modes, informational mode
does not restrict or alter operations on the message. Operator may
unmark only those messages they themselves have marked.
Configuring Message Ownership Mode
The HPOM administrator can choose a message ownership mode to
determine the message ownership policy.
To specify a message ownership mode:
1. Since the configuration is global and affects all HPOM sessions, close
all running GUIs and stop the HP Operations management server
processes before editing the opcsvinfo file.
2. Edit the HP Operations management server configuration file
/opt/OV/bin/OpC/install/opcsvinfo
3. Add one of the following options to the file:
OPC_OWN_MODE ENFORCED
OPC_OWN_MODE OPTIONAL
OPC_OWN_MODE INFORM
4. Save and close the file.
5. Restart the HP Operations management server processes for the new
configuration to be read.
6. Restart the HPOM GUI.
