Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses<br />

9. Reconfigure the <strong>HP</strong> <strong>Operations</strong> management server system<br />

with the new hostname or IP address and restart the system.<br />

a. Change the hostname or IP address:<br />

• <strong>HP</strong>-UX<br />

To change the hostname permanently, run the special<br />

initialization script /sbin/set_parms. See the man page<br />

set_parms(1M) <strong>for</strong> more in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

• Sun Solaris<br />

To change the hostname permanently, run the<br />

/usr/sbin/sys-unconfig command. See the man page<br />

sys-unconfig(1M) <strong>for</strong> more details<br />

If you are moving from a non-name-server environment to a<br />

name-server environment, make sure the name server has the<br />

new hostname or IP address available.<br />

b. Restart the system <strong>for</strong> your changes to take effect.<br />
