Installing and De-Installing <strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance Agent<br />

Standard Installation of <strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance Agent<br />

To install <strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance Agent on a supported managed node using<br />

standard installation, run the product_inst.sh script. The location of<br />

the script is as follows:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/agtinstall/product_inst.sh<br />

Install the <strong>HP</strong>OM agent software on the managed node where you want<br />

to run <strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance Agent.<br />

When installing <strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance Agent with standard installation, you<br />

must enter the system(s) <strong>for</strong> which software maintenance should be<br />

done, the plat<strong>for</strong>m name, and the subagent products installed on the<br />

management server.<br />

Manual Installation of <strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance Agent<br />

To install <strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance Agent on a managed node without using the<br />

management server, follow these steps:<br />

1. Make sure the selected temporary directory on the managed node<br />

contains the required disk space specified in the <strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance<br />

Agent Installation and Concepts Guide.<br />

2. Copy the appropriate package and installation files from the<br />

management server to a temporary directory of the managed node.<br />

See “<strong>HP</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>mance Agent Package and Installation Files” on<br />

page 194 <strong>for</strong> a list of files and directories <strong>for</strong> each plat<strong>for</strong>m.<br />

3. To install the files, enter the following command on the managed<br />

node:<br />

a. Go to the directory containing the package and installation files<br />

copied from the <strong>HP</strong> <strong>Operations</strong> management server.<br />

b. On Windows HTTPS managed nodes only, unzip the package file<br />

with the command:<br />

unzip ovpa_pkg.zip<br />

c. For HTTPS managed nodes, start the installation with the<br />

command:<br />

ovpa_inst INSTALL<br />
