aggregation tendency induced by some antagonists but increases in vitro platelet<br />

aggregation by other antagonists. Also, the effects of dietary fatty acid composition<br />

on in vitro platelet aggregation are contradictory.<br />

To affect coagulation <strong>and</strong> fibrinolytic factors, it appears that lowering fat intake<br />

must be accompanied by changes in dietary fatty acid composition <strong>and</strong>/or increased<br />

fiber intakes. Favorable effects on blood coagulation can be obtained by lowering<br />

the content of the major dietary saturated fatty acids <strong>and</strong> replacing them with unsaturated<br />

fatty acids.<br />
