During the past financial year, aligned with its mandate to build pride and patriotism in the Nation Brand, Brand South Africa has worked on initiatives to encourage active citizenship in partnership with its stakeholders in government, business, civil society and identified influential forums to increase the participation of all people, particularly our young people, in building a strong, cohesive Nation Brand. These activities, together with engagements at provincial level on Nation Brand alignment, contribute to social cohesion and a positive Nation Brand. Brand South Africa’s activities took place under the leadership of its new CEO, Amb. Kingsley Makhubela, PhD, who joined the organisation during the year.

organisations who are affected by its work and who have the<br />

influence and power to champion the cause of the Nation<br />

<strong>Brand</strong>. Therefore, these entities have a direct interest in the<br />

successful delivery of <strong>South</strong> <strong>Africa</strong>’s brand.<br />

The need for all stakeholders to work together in building a<br />

cohesive Nation <strong>Brand</strong> and presenting a united story of <strong>South</strong><br />

<strong>Africa</strong> to the world is fundamental to building and managing<br />

<strong>South</strong> <strong>Africa</strong>’s reputation.<br />

To that end, <strong>Brand</strong> <strong>South</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> works with and through key<br />

stakeholders (business, government and civil society partners)<br />

to deliver on its mandate.<br />

<strong>Brand</strong> <strong>South</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> has implemented a number of programmes<br />

to mobilise stakeholders, strengthen existing partnerships and<br />

utilise various partner platforms to leverage <strong>South</strong> <strong>Africa</strong>’s<br />

reputation.<br />
