SelectHealth wants to improve the health of the communities
where its members and employees live, work, and
play. The organization is actively involved in programs that
improve health and promote education.
To fight childhood obesity, SelectHealth created a free fitness
program for fourth graders. The STEP Express program
includes lesson plans, PE activities, and a fitness challenge
where students track their minutes of exercise. SelectHealth
provides all of the necessary exercise equipment and materials.

Each year, SelectHealth recognizes twenty-five Utah nonprofits
that are improving health or serving those with special
needs. Each organization receives $2,500 to further its
mission. Winners are selected from all areas of the state and
represent a wide range of causes. Past winners include exercise
programs for the elderly, afterschool programs for
underserved youth, and nutrition classes for Navajo families.

GREENbike, the bike share program in Salt Lake City. Riders
can pick up a bike at any sharing station in the downtown
area and then drop it off when they are done. It is an easy
and affordable way to get some exercise and help keep the

the Downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake City.
