REGIONAL SUPPLY<br />

Regional Supply, one of <strong>the</strong> largest sign,<br />

screen pr<strong>in</strong>t and plastic supply wholesalers <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Western United States, is a division of Fisher<br />

Group, Inc. Regional Supply was founded <strong>in</strong><br />

1946 by Art Mendenhall and was orig<strong>in</strong>ally<br />

called Regional Electric Works. At that time,<br />

<strong>the</strong>y repaired electric motors and rebuilt neon<br />

transformers for <strong>the</strong> electric sign <strong>in</strong>dustry, with<br />

Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO) as its<br />

ma<strong>in</strong> customer. By 1951, Art and his team had<br />

expanded <strong>the</strong>ir bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong>to a full-service sign<br />

supply bus<strong>in</strong>ess.<br />

As <strong>the</strong> years passed, Regional Supply’s bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

cont<strong>in</strong>ued to expand and become more<br />

recognized <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> sign <strong>in</strong>dustry, supply<strong>in</strong>g product and<br />

services to most of <strong>the</strong> area’s lead<strong>in</strong>g sign manufacturers.<br />

In <strong>the</strong> 1960s <strong>the</strong> company cont<strong>in</strong>ued to diversify and<br />

expand as <strong>the</strong> market changed,<br />

fur<strong>the</strong>r develop<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> product<br />

l<strong>in</strong>e to <strong>in</strong>clude screen-pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g<br />

equipment and supplies. The late<br />

1990s brought about digital<br />

imag<strong>in</strong>g and pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g as ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

new and emerg<strong>in</strong>g trend for<br />

<strong>the</strong> sign and graphics <strong>in</strong>dustry.<br />

Regional Supply embraced this<br />

new technology and has become<br />

a leader <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> sales of digital<br />

pr<strong>in</strong>ters, <strong>in</strong>ks and media.<br />

After many years of successful<br />

operation, Art retired <strong>in</strong> 1978 and<br />

was succeeded by his son, Dwa<strong>in</strong><br />

C. Mendenhall, who owned and<br />

operated <strong>the</strong> company for thirty<br />

years. In 2008, Dwa<strong>in</strong> sold his<br />

companies to his son-<strong>in</strong>-law, David L. Fisher, who had been<br />

<strong>the</strong> company’s vice president for many years. David’s company,<br />

Fisher Group Inc., now acts as a hold<strong>in</strong>g company for<br />

four bus<strong>in</strong>esses, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g Regional Supply.<br />

Fisher noted that <strong>the</strong> sales team is tra<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> latest<br />

technology, and its members also have a vast work<strong>in</strong>g<br />

knowledge of each piece of equipment <strong>the</strong> company sells.<br />

Regional Supply specializes <strong>in</strong> wholesale supply to screen<br />

pr<strong>in</strong>ters, large format digital pr<strong>in</strong>ters, electric and v<strong>in</strong>yl sign<br />

makers and <strong>in</strong>stallers and a wide variety of plastics users.<br />

It carries more than 10,000 items for customers’ bus<strong>in</strong>esses,<br />

from v<strong>in</strong>yl, <strong>in</strong>ks and neon to plastic sheets, transformers,<br />

screens and lamps.<br />
