FIRST UTAH BANK<br />

Despite tremendous growth <strong>in</strong> facilities, employees,<br />

Beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g as Cottonwood Security<br />

Bank <strong>in</strong> September of 1978, First Utah<br />

Bank has grown from a s<strong>in</strong>gle location to<br />

seven full-service bank<strong>in</strong>g offices and a mortgage division<br />

located with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Salt</strong> <strong>Lake</strong> Valley.<br />

Now staffed by approximately 112 employees, <strong>the</strong><br />

corporation has reached $275 million <strong>in</strong> total asset size.<br />

The bank is <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> forefront of energy conservation<br />

efforts. A light<strong>in</strong>g retrofit project is near<strong>in</strong>g completion.<br />

This will convert all <strong>in</strong>terior and exterior lights of<br />

its build<strong>in</strong>gs, corporate-wide, to LED to conserve<br />

energy. The bank also promotes e-Statements, onl<strong>in</strong>e,<br />

and mobile bank<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> an effort to decrease paper usage<br />

and to elim<strong>in</strong>ate <strong>the</strong> need for clients to travel to<br />

a branch location to conduct <strong>the</strong>ir bank<strong>in</strong>g bus<strong>in</strong>ess.<br />

As an active community partner, First Utah Bank<br />

supports various charitable activities. For a number of<br />

years, <strong>the</strong> bank was a top contributor to <strong>the</strong> annual<br />

March of Dimes fundrais<strong>in</strong>g walk-a-thon. More recently,<br />

First Utah Bank has made generous donations to assist<br />

<strong>the</strong> International Rescue Committee with its New Roots<br />

Farm <strong>in</strong> West Valley <strong>City</strong>. This project helps teach<br />

refugees how to grow much of <strong>the</strong>ir own food, as<br />

well as how to sell <strong>the</strong> excess produce at farm stands.<br />
