<strong>Salt</strong> <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>City</strong> is undertak<strong>in</strong>g a ground break<strong>in</strong>g project to adopt <strong>the</strong> most comprehensive<br />

susta<strong>in</strong>ability ord<strong>in</strong>ance revision <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> country. The Susta<strong>in</strong>able <strong>City</strong> Code Initiative <strong>in</strong>cludes<br />

plans to transform all <strong>City</strong> government build<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>in</strong>to net-zero facilities, utiliz<strong>in</strong>g power com<strong>in</strong>g<br />

from renewable, city-based power sources exclusively; streaml<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> process for access<strong>in</strong>g<br />

public funds for energy efficient projects and <strong>in</strong>centiviz<strong>in</strong>g private development to maximize<br />

efficiency, materials reuse, recycl<strong>in</strong>g and whole-build<strong>in</strong>g adaptive reuse to exceed LEED standards.<br />
