<strong>The</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> for Promotion of Urdu was appo<strong>in</strong>ted by the Government of <strong>India</strong> Resolution No. F. 15-25/72-L. 1 dated May 5, 1972, notified <strong>in</strong> Part I, Section I of the Gazette of <strong>India</strong> dated May 20, 1972. <strong>The</strong> text of the Resolution is reproduced below 1.1<br />
