ARGENTINA
Malbec
Originally a French grape, Malbec was brought to South
America by French immigrants in the 19th century. It is
now one of Argentina’s signature grapes and particularly
thrives in high elevation areas, such as San Juan which is
mostly 640m (2,100 ft) above sea level.
Extremely popular, Malbec represents approximately 40%
of the total red wine produced in Argentina. Malbec wines
are loved for their rich, dark fruit flavours and smooth
chocolatey finish. Dry, full body and medium tannins
combine to make Malbec perfect to pair with leaner red
meats and melted blue cheese.

This high altitude, single vineyard Malbec is from grapes
grown 1,360m above sea level in Calingasta, on the
slopes of the Cordillero de Los Andes overlooking the
wider San Juan region. This area is home to some of
the highest cultivated vines in Argentina which creates
wines with high concentration of aroma and big body.
The water which irrigates this area comes exclusively
from the completely pure snow thaw of the Andes
Mountains.

This deep, inky violet Malbec is a pure and unoaked
expression of Malbec. Tempting flavours of
blackberry, plum and black cherry.
It is a great value fruit-forward wine with
round, silky tannins and fresh acidity. Well
