purpose is to promote German
wine to the public.
Germany is mostly known for world-class Riesling in
dry, medium-sweet, and sweet styles. But the historic
wine country also produces red wine with the grape
Spätburgunder best known as a clone of Pinot Noir.
Overall Riesling is the star of German wine and is the
main grape variety of almost all wineries. It is found in
all parts of the country and all sorts of styles. The most
exclusive is the ‘Erste Lage’ Große Gewächs. These wines
come from only the best vineyards and the sugar level is
higher than many other Riesling wines when harvested.
But because the winemaker ferments all the sugar away
the wine is bone dry and holds around 14% alcohol.

little over 20% of the total vineyard in Germany is planted
with the grape. Riesling is known for its crisp acidity
and minerality. It is also characterized by a wide range
of aromas and flavours, such as green apples, limes, and
lemons, which give it a fresh and lively taste.
Some Rieslings can also have a distinct petrol aroma and
taste, which is a result of the specific terroir, winemaking
methods, and aging. In addition, Riesling can have
delicate floral aromas and tastes, such as jasmine and
honeysuckle.

Ripe yellow peach and hints of apple blossom.
Tangy, juicy limes and rhubarb with persistent
and fresh finish. A versatile wine which pairs
perfectly with almost any food. Estate-bottled
dry Riesling is harvested exclusively from the
property which sits on mineral-rich chalk
sediments from 200 million years ago.
