Since the first grapes were planted
in the state 50 years ago, Oregon has
become recognised as one of the
world’s elite winemaking regions.
With 22 designated wine growing
areas located in five diverse regions,
Oregon now boasts more than 793
wineries producing wine from over
82 grape varieties.
The state has a varied climate and
unique terroirs. Most of its wineries
are small and family owned, many
producing fewer than 5,000 cases
annually. They can be found sprinkled
along country roads, tucked into
mountain foothills, situated high
above vineyards with breath-taking
views of the landscape.
Oregon’s northerly latitude means
grapes get extra growing season
sunlight for long, even ripening,
combined with crisp, cool nights to help
grapes retain their freshening acidity.

Joel Gott Pinot Gris 2021
Willamette Valley, Oregon
Aromas of honeydew melon and lime with notes
of pear and peach blossoms. On the palate,
the wine opens with bright acidity and citrus
notes followed by a smooth, elongated midpalate
with tropical fruit flavours and a long,
clean balanced finish. A long, cool fermentation
in stainless steel tanks preserved the varietal
characteristics of the fruit.
Joel Gott
Joel Gott, the founder of Joel Gott Wines, is a
fifth-generation vintner, a lover of great food, an
entrepreneur and an athlete. Born into a family of
California vintners—his grandfather ran Inglenook
Winery in the 60s, and his father founded Montevina
Winery in the 70s—Joel grew up in the vineyards and
learned to drive a tractor before he could legally drive
a car.
For his Oregon wine range, Joel hand selects fruit
from Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where the region’s
cool climate stresses the vines, creating smaller, more
concentrated fruit clusters that yield more complex,
flavourful wines.

Joel Gott Pinot Noir 2019
Willamette Valley, Oregon
Aromas of black cap raspberries, cranberries
and pomegranate with notes of cedar. On the
palate, bright red fruit flavours and acidity lead
to soft, velvety tannins on the mid-palate and a
long, delicate finish. The mild, even temperature
in 2019 allowed fruit to mature and develop
well-balanced sugars and acidity.
