The Specialyst Zinfandel 2019
Lodi, California
Rich aromas and flavours of blackberry, cherry
and vanilla, with a smooth, well-balanced finish.
This wine is delicious on its own and pairs
perfectly well with grilled vegetables and meats,
hearty pastas and aged cheeses. Beautifully
ripe fruit was selected from top Zinfandel
vineyards throughout Lodi – world renowned
for Zinfandel.
Grape varieties: Zinfandel, Petite Syrah
Taken 2019
Napa Valley, California
At first, the nose seems dominated by ripe
notes of raspberry, blackberry, blackcurrant
and plum, which then reveals soft floral
undertones. Delicate hints of jasmine and
vanilla bean elevate the palate while the body
is defined by flavours of quince, roasted fig and
extra dark chocolate with a dash of allspice.
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel,
Merlot, Malbec, Pinot Noir
Have you heard
the legend of The
Specialyst?
Some swear they’ve seen him
riding in the fabled old vine
Zinfandel vineyards of Lodi late at
night, bending the moonlight and
serenading the grapes.
He has devoted himself to these
vineyards and the Zinfandel
grape. That intense knowledge
drives the production of this
truly specialised wine.
Taken
In a corner of the world steeped in heritage, yet
unrestrained by convention, Taken is crafted
entirely from Napa Valley fruit. The winemaker
views this traditional region through a
decidedly of-the-moment lens, capturing the
unmatched terroir of Napa as an ever-evolving
narrative. A story of flavour, complexity and
depth.
In 1948, young Italian immigrant Mario Trinchero leaves New York
City and heads west to the Napa Valley, hoping to build a better life
for his wife Mary and their three children, Bob, Roger and Vera. The
family purchased an abandoned Prohibition-era winery in St. Helena,
refurbishing it and initially scraping by as a mom-and-pop operation.
The family’s single-vineyard Zinfandel wines were greeted with
acclaim from wine critics, sommeliers and consumers. But they really
hit the big time in 1972 when Mario’s son Bob created the world’s first
White Zinfandel. This was under the name of their winery, Sutter Home - at the time, they couldn’t afford to change
the sign so the name stayed and became a legend.
The family continued to expand throughout the Napa Valley and in 2007 opened the Trinchero Napa Valley winery.
This is the first winery to showcase the Trinchero name, with wines and vineyards named to honour the family and
their heritage.
Every Trinchero Napa Valley wine is crafted with estate-grown fruit, selected by hand from TNV’s best vineyards
throughout Napa Valley.
Mario’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Napa Valley, California
Opulent fruit with a fleshy mid-palate thanks
to its valley floor origins, velvety tannins with
elegant structure. Aromas of mocha, crushed
red berry fruit, plum, forest floor and hints of
refreshing mint. Bright flavours of raspberry
jam, tobacco and fig with a soft texture, rich
mid-palate and a polished finish.
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon
