AUSTRALIA - Grounded Cru<br />
Joffa<br />
Based in McLaren Vale, South Australia, Grounded Cru<br />
creates handcrafted wines from the vale, hills and creek.<br />
Cru chief Geoff 'Joffa' Thompson, and winemaker Matt<br />
'Jacko' Jackman, produce wines with passion and honesty,<br />
delivering the vineyard to your table.<br />
The name ‘Grounded Cru’ epitomises Joffa’s philosophies.<br />
‘Grounded’ reflects his down to earth nature and the fact that<br />
he values relationships (collaborating with growers, etc) and<br />
pays attention to the little things; handcrafting his wines. It also carries a link to terroir<br />
and the vineyard. ‘Cru’ is a French word meaning ‘growth’. It is also used with terms<br />
‘Grand’ and ‘Premier’ to classify the superior quality of a vineyard. Joffa also likes to<br />
think of ‘Cru’ with regards to joining the crew or being part of a group of like-minded<br />
people. The Grounded Cru brand features handmade typography and a down to earth<br />
(grounded) Australian icon. We think this perfectly tells our unique story.<br />

Grounded Cru Sparkling Chardonnay<br />
Pinot Noir NV<br />
Adelaide Hills<br />
A perfumed nose of citrus and strawberries with<br />
a hint of toasty complexity. The palate displays<br />
up front flavours of lemon and lime, mingling<br />
amongst red berries and honey. Time on yeast<br />
lees post ferment has resulted in a beautifully<br />
creamy palate with tremendous length of<br />
flavour.<br />

Grounded Cru Pinot Gris 2021/22<br />
Adelaide Hills<br />
Excellent aromatic and flavour intensity with<br />
fresh citrus, pear, honeysuckle and spicy notes<br />
abounding. The palate is wonderfully textural<br />
and has great length of flavour. Bright, crunchy<br />
acid and savoury spice combine with a delicate<br />
minerality resulting in a wine which is both<br />
flavoursome and intriguing.<br />

Grounded Cru Sauvignon Blanc 2022<br />
Adelaide Hills<br />
Bright and fresh, with passionfruit and citrus<br />
aromas. Flavours of lime and grapefruit with a<br />
touch of melon leaves you wanting more. The<br />
mouthfeel is textural with a touch of complexity<br />
provided by a small barrel ferment component.<br />
Grapes are from a single vineyard 400m above<br />
sea level, north east of Adelaide.<br />

Grounded Cru Grenache 2020/21<br />
McLaren Vale<br />
The wine offers a delicious raspberry lift, with<br />
plum and spicy notes adding to the array of<br />
aromas. The palate is pretty and brooding, rich<br />
and textural with raspberry and plum flavours.<br />
Matured in seasoned French oak barrels for<br />
9 months only to retain brightness. A perfect<br />
accompaniment to slow-cooked pork belly.<br />

Grounded Cru GSM 2020/21<br />
McLaren Vale<br />
A tremendous array of aromas and flavours are<br />
on offer – raspberry, plum, blackberry and spicy<br />
notes abound, all wrapped up in a beautifully<br />
textured palate. The finish is long, generous and<br />
satisfying. 12 months in oak.<br />
This wine is so well balanced it lends itself to<br />
being incredibly versatile with food.<br />
Grape varieties: Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre<br />
Grounded Cru Shiraz 2016<br />
McLaren Vale<br />
Deep inky purple in colour, the wine displays<br />
intense plum, blackberry and black olive aromas<br />
and flavours. Beautifully integrated French and<br />
American oak add complexity to the rich red<br />
fruits, resulting in a truly moreish wine.<br />
